More Information About the Race

The 2020 New Year’s Day 5k/10k will take place on Wednesday, January 1 from 7:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Old Mill Park located at 241 Caroline St, Fredericksburg, VA 2241. Both walkers and strollers are welcome at the event. The race benefits Furnish A Home Again which is a charity that assists those facing homelessness or who are in need of furnished homes. From small kitchen items to furniture, Furnish A Home is there to help those in need.

For those of you who take part in the race, you will receive a finisher’s medal, an event shirt, and a chip-timed event. Whether you choose the 5k or the 10k, you’re certain to get the exercise you need and have fun along the way. In fact, the race will take place near the Rappahannock River in historic Fredericksburg which makes for a picture-perfect location. If your New Year’s resolution is to get more active, this is a great way to do so!

Start Times and Registration Fees

The following is a breakdown of the race start times:

  • 10k – This race will begin at 7:45 a.m.
  • 5k – This race will begin at 8:00 a.m.

The registration fees are as follows:

  • 5k – This race costs $30
  • 10k – This race costs $45

You’ll want to arrive early on the day of the race so that you can pick up your packet an hour before each race starts.
