History is an important part of not only school, but being human. There’s no wonder why history is one of the four main core classes taught in school alongside math, English, and science. About the Event
Hosted by Washington Heritage Museums and the Mary Washington House, guests can attend “Happy Birthday, George” on February 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Mary Washington Home located at 1200 Charles St., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Guests who stop by will be able to enjoy punch, cake, and children’s activities while honoring George Washington and his lasting legacy. You’ll celebrate his birthday with a tour of the Mary Washington House. On the tour, you’ll learn more about George Washington, and his mother, Mary Washington. Participation is included in the price of admission which is the following:
- Adults: $7
- Children Ages 6-18: $3
- Children Under 6: Free
You can also purchase admission, known as a Heritage pass, to other museums on the area. Some of the other museums include:
- James’ House
- Hugh Mercer Apothecary
- Rising Sun Tavern
