The new year is coming and it is time to start thinking about what you want to change in 2021. Take time to reflect on what it is that you want, and if one of those things is to live more purposefully, then this blog is for you. Things thrive with intention like relationships, finances, and your work. Take a look at these tips to start practicing in order to have a more intentional year.
Keep In Mind
Becoming more intentional takes practice. Don’t rush the process. Instead, take small steps in the right direction and you will go further. Question things like your values, goals, priorities, and strengths. Once you have a better idea of what you want and what is important to you, you can start taking actions that will complement those answers.
Next Steps
There are important things to keep in mind when you are trying to live more intentionally. The first thing is to set boundaries on consuming information. We are living in a time where you have access to limitless information and media that can be too much to absorb. Instead of blindly scrolling your feed at all hours of the day, put limits on when and how much you will consume. When boundaries are set, media can be useful and important.
Be careful with your consuming habits financially. Intentionally managing your money will ultimately leave you more fulfilled.
Next, give yourself an attitude check. Choose to be kind, even when things are going wrong. Intentionally managing your attitude is important for how you react to others, handle situations, and work effectively.
Another step you can take is to do something that brings you joy. You can’t fill someone else’s cup from an empty cup of your own. Fill yourself up with things that make you happy so you can intentionally give in your relationships from a full glass.
When you are in a conversation with someone, practice active listening. It is easy to tune out when you are in the hustle of life, but practicing active listening will help you connect better and intentionally converse with your friends, family, and coworkers.
