Friday’s Adventures
Start your day by visiting George Washington’s Ferry Farm, an exact reconstruction of George Washington’s childhood home where guests are encouraged to touch the reconstructed furniture. Follow that by stopping at Chatham Manor which is a historic home that played a pivotal role in the Battle of Fredericksburg during the Civil War and is now home to the Parks and Recreation department. Then grab lunch at FoodE where you must try the fried chicken.
Once you’ve completed lunch, take a stroll through Fredericksburg’s downtown area where you can window the boutiques and shops, such as the Ponshop Studio & Gallery, Monkees of Fredericksburg, and Sugar + Spruce. After shopping, grab a pick-me-up coffee drink at Hyperion Espresso.
Jump on a trolley at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center for a historic tour, reservations are required. Later that evening, be sure to enjoy dinner at Orofino Restaurant. Orofino Restaurant is an Italian bistro that creates homemade pasta from different areas of Italy.
Saturdays are for Exploring
Start your morning off at Mercantile for either a savory or sweet breakfast. Entrees you should seriously consider ordering are the Bacon-Jalapeno Pinwheel or the Poached Stone Fruit Waffle. After breakfast, visit the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop and the Rising Sun Tavern, both museums.
Have lunch at the Sunken Wall Tavern where you can enjoy flavorful burgers and sandwiches. La Petite Auberge is a great spot for dinner. End your night with a carriage ride with Old Towne Carriage. The company works on reservations and has the Jingle Bells tour around Christmas.

Sunday Funday
Before you leave town, stop by Eileen’s Bakery and Cafe for breakfast. Once you have completed breakfast take a walk around the Fredericksburg Battlefield to get one more dose of history.
