The most wonderful time of year is here again, and the Fredericksburg community is preparing to celebrate with a highly-anticipated annual tradition. The Fredericksburg Christmas Parade returns to downtown for 2021, so dress warm and prepare to see a host of festive floats!
Make Your Plans
The Christmas Parade will proceed through downtown Fredericksburg on Saturday, December 4. It will begin at 5:30 p.m., rain, shine, or snow. Remember that parking downtown will be limited on the parade day, so plan ahead and consider carpooling.
Christmas Candyland
These Christmas parades have a special theme for all the floats and décor, and this year’s theme is “Candyland.” Every float, band, and other parties that proceed through town will sport some kind of scenery, costumes, and decorations that evoke sweets, and there’s no telling what kind of creative works will come from the imaginations of our community members. While the children’s board game will likely be well represented, you can look out for all the inventive interpretations of the saccharine theme.
May the Best Float Win
Each float will pass by a panel of judges for a chance to win awards for excelling in various areas. The judges will award plaques for appearance, attention to detail, incorporation of the Candyland theme, originality, and the precision of any performers involved. Winners will be declared online on Wednesday, December 6.
