Directions

This recipe makes enough wax to fill a pint jar. You can increase as necessary or divide the mixture into two half-pint jars depending on what jars you have. You may also want to add more spice depending on how strong you want the scent. Make sure your wicks are longer than the jar is tall. Place a wick in the jar and wrap the excess around a pencil to hold it in the center of the jar. The wick should touch the bottom of the jar.

Melt the beeswax, coconut oil, and spices of your choice in a double boiler. Don’t let the mixture bubble, just melt. Don’t have a double boiler? Check out this option using a pot and heat-safe glass bowl. Stir the mixture with a chopstick or spoon a few times to incorporate the spices well.

Once it is melted, carefully pour a small amount of hot wax into the bottom of your jar. Let it set to help hold the wick in place. Fill the rest of the jar in layers, letting each one set, so your spices don’t sink to the bottom. Let your candles sit to fully harden before lighting and enjoying your DIY spice scented candle.
